π Ho Ho Ho Newsies,
Canβt believe itβs already Dec 1st!
Last week I got an email from a subscriber asking the following question.
What's your process for creating your newsletter?
It got me thinking, about how I write a weekly newsletter every week. And today I want to share with you.
Letβs start from top to bottom.
Hidden Gems of the Week is my curated section, where I can share what I found interesting in the past week and maybe you will too.
How I find things is very simple. First I use X, for a lot of interesting goodies. I even created a private list of people I follow, and I enjoy reading their tweets to see what they are talking about and sharing.
Once I find things, I usually bookmark the tweets and go back when writing the newsletter to see what got my attention.
I also use emails, and Google Alerts as another trick to find interesting goodies to share in the upcoming email.
I am still trying to find a way to use AI to do a lot of the curating so I donβt need to spend much time searching.
The nameless section you are reading right now does not have a name. But this section is where I just write about what Iβm interested in sharing with you.
How I get ideas of what I will write here:
I saw a tweet: I want to add my spin to it.
Replies from you: Yes you. When you ask a question, that can be a topic, and maybe others might be interested in reading about it.
ChatGPT: I ask it questions about this space and sometimes I get ideas from the answers it provides.
After I know what I will write about, I write something on a Tuesday evening and let it just sit there and revisit it usually on Thursday night where I do the final edit and schedule the newsletter on Friday.
That is pretty much my process on sending out my weekly newsletter.
Quick update:
My first mini-course is almost finished.
Here is what Jake had to say about it.
Just took Daniel's newsletter beta course.
Learnt more in 53 minutes about content and email marketing than 5 months straight piecing it together from various sources on X.
When this thing finally releases you won't want to miss it. π
