Everyone wants to grow their newsletter really, like really fast. They have their reason, they want to make millions or they want to sell their newsletter.

Today I wanted to share 5 ways you can do this, but it will be a lot of work and a bit of money.

  1. Ads: This is the most obvious way to grow a newsletter fast is by creating FB ads or X ads. This is how popular newsletters grew so fast like the Milkroad.

But don’t just make an ad for your newsletter, a suggestion is you can make an ad for your lead magnet or course and have people enter their email once they click your ad to get the lead magnet or course you created.

Here is a free tool I like to see what other newsletters are doing when it comes to their ads.

  2. Giveaways: This can work if you do it maybe every 6 months, something like Morning Brew did before (not sure if they still do it)

They would give out like AirPods or Macbooks and the more people you shared it with the more chances you had to win those prizes. Maybe if you don’t have the cash for Apple products, you can give away a product you build or 1 hour of your time.

  3. Referrals: Building a referral system like the one below has helped with the growth of this newsletter. The one thing you should do when building yours is to make it easy for a quick win.

What I mean, is if someone refers just one person they get access to something you created. This is so they would want to refer someone to your newsletter.

  4. Boost: Again with this option you will need to spend some cash, but it’s worth it if you can.

You can pay others to recommend your newsletter when someone subscribes to that person’s newsletter a pop-up will show up to recommend your newsletter to subscribe to your newsletter.

Not sure if you noticed when you sub to my newsletter a pop recommending other newsletters.

  5. Optimize your socials: You just never know when your big break might come, but when it does you want to have your socials set up to handle where you want people to go.

If that’s your newsletter you want to make sure your newsletter link is everywhere.

  6. Bonus, Stop people on the streets: This one is out there, but I remember reading about Morning Brew early day and they used to enter classrooms and get people to stop and write down their email addresses.

Ok, you might not want to stop people, but maybe go to events in your area that have something to do with what you write about in your newsletter and connect with those in the same industry.
