โ๏ธ Good Morning Newsies,
What did you have for breakfast?
Would you click on that subject line?
The answer is yes since you are reading this right now.
That one question is the subject line in my welcome email and has increased my engagement.
I am getting responses from many new readers, who respond with their breakfast and an answer to my 2nd question in the welcome email.
For the past few months, I have been trying to improve my welcome email to get engagement from it since itโs probably the most important email and the most open one as well.
But I think I found the right welcome email for me, after months of testing.
Why do I think itโs working?
First, the subject line, is random and curious, right? How would you feel when you see a subject line like that when you subscribe to a newsletter?
You will want to open it and see whatโs inside.
Second, itโs simple. I am only asking 2 questions:
What did you have for breakfast?
What is your current struggle with your newsletter?
Thatโs it!
I am not asking for the subscriber to move my email to the inbox or anything too complicated. (I have done this too.)
I am asking 2 simple questions that I am curious about.
The point of this weekโs email is if something is not working try something else, in email marketing terms this is called A/B testing.
