start creating engagement with these

Good Morning,
As a creator, you know that email can help you generate more sales. That is why…
This week I want to share 5 email marketing best practices that work to drive up sales for you as a creator. It does not matter if you sell courses or digital products, or if you want to create engagement with your subscribers.
#1 Double Opt-in: I know it is an extra step for the subscriber to confirm the subscription to your email newsletter. But you want to have double opt-in for your email newsletter so you are getting high-quality people to your email list.
#2 Welcome Email: Adding a welcome email is the highest open rate email in most cases of your entire email marketing. Fun fact… 60% is the open rate of most welcome emails. But don’t just say thank you for subscribing in your welcome email.
This is your chance to share a bit more about the newsletter and provide some valuable content. This is also the best time to ask a question to your new subscriber on what is their biggest struggle and how you can help them.
#3 Invest in your subject line: Just like your Youtube videos, you need people a reason to click your email. So you want to invest a bit of time in your subject line. In most cases, I use ChatGPT to help come up with ideas and tweak them to make them awesome.
#4 Clean your list: Cleaning your email list every 3 - 6 months is something that most big newsletters do and you should too. You can create a segmentation where if someone has not opened an email of yours in 6 months you can send them an email and tell them if they are still interested in getting your email. This will help you with your metrics and also make sure you are sending to people who actually want to read your newsletter
My favorite way to clean my email list is to copy MorningBrew style and have the user click a link to make sure they are reading the newsletter and to keep them subscribed. If they don’t click the link they will be unsubscribed.
#5 Use the P.S. section: This is the most under-used section whenever you are sending out emails. The P.S. section can be a great place to add a reminder of what the email was about. It can also be a great place to add your link to your sales page if done correctly.

I grew my newsletter from 0 to 5k subscribers in 100 days. Matt McGarry does a deep dive into what worked and what did not work to get to 5K subscribers for his newsletter.
You've never seen a newsletter grow like this: Beehiiv featured Zain, the person behind Superhuman Newsletter. Such a good read on how Zain got started and is growing Superhuman.
Email Characters: This is a free Chrome extension to tell you how your subject line will look on mobile.
✉️ Email of the Week
This is Miss Excel’s welcome email, it is simple. And as mentioned above, how she also will ask a question about the person's biggest struggle so she can use that info to create more content on what her subs want to see more of.
Remember to include a welcome email in your newsletter. Let me know if you need help with it. ;)
That’s all for now
See you next week,
